FAQs

Who can attend the programs?

Boots of Courage currently offers three programs: the Youth Program for ages 15–18, the Women’s Practical Skills Program for adult women, and the Ringers Rising 2-Day Course designed for young people interested in gaining a deeper taste of station life. Each program is tailored to the needs and abilities of participants, ensuring everyone can take part safely and confidently.

Where are the programs held?

All programs take place in Paterson, NSW. This is our home base where we can safely deliver sessions with the right facilities, equipment, and environment to support learning and growth.

How safe are the activities?

Safety is our highest priority. Group sizes are deliberately kept small so that every participant receives personal guidance and supervision. All activities are carefully explained and demonstrated before participants have a go themselves, with protective equipment supplied where needed. Courtney is certified to work with children and is experienced in supporting participants of all levels.

What should I bring?

All tools, equipment, and materials are provided, and meals such as morning tea and lunch are included in the program fee. Participants only need to bring essentials such as a water bottle, sun protection (hat, sunscreen), and sturdy closed-in shoes. For longer courses, we’ll provide a list of recommended personal items in advance.

How much does it cost?

The Youth Program is $200 per student for a full-day workshop, and the Ringers Rising 2-Day Course is priced according to inclusions and duration. Family rates and group bookings may be available — please get in touch if you’d like more information. Pricing for the Women’s Practical Skills Program varies depending on the event, and upcoming dates are announced on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

How do I find upcoming sessions?

The best way to keep up to date is by following Boots of Courage on Facebook and Instagram, where all new program dates are announced. If you don’t see any current events listed, you can still send an Expression of Interest to be notified as soon as new workshops are scheduled.

What if I’ve never done anything like this before?

That’s exactly what our programs are for. Every activity is taught step by step in a supportive environment where it’s okay to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn by doing. No prior experience is needed — just a willingness to give it a go.
